Chris Stephens aka US Ambassador Christopher Stevens
Class of 1978
Does anyone remember Chris Stephens, who recently died in the attack on the Benghazi embassy from the class of 1978?
I remember seeing Chris Stephens around PHS, he was active in the Symphonic Band and played an instrument I think it was the trumpet and also played football? We were all so young back then and so naive about what was going on outside of Piedmont.
This afternoon the City of San Francisco held a memorial service for him at City Hall led by SF Mayor Ed Lee, here's a url about the service:

Thanks Chris for everything you did, and thanks for being all around good guy that I remember you being, always a smile for everyone who approached him, a good athlete, musician.
It is a shame he's died so young.
Anyone else remember Chris? Let's keep him memory alive by remembering him and honoring his becoming a US Ambassador. Way to go Chris, where ever you are!
By the way I met his cousins this afternoon who were at SF City Hall before the memorial began and they said Chris just happened to be in the building as a sort of fluke, he wasn't supposed to be there and was working on something related to a project involving the internet and got stuck under fire and died of smoke inhalation.
