Served in United States Marine Corps from 1979-1983 as a Marine Scout Sniper. Joined the United States Army in 1985. Attended Special Forces Warfare School in 1985 and served as a Weapons Specialist. Retired in 2008 as a First Sergeant. Served in Panama, Paraguay, Honduras, El Salvador, Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Silver Star recipient.
