Went into the U.S. Army on Jan. 3, 1967 (Denny Permann's birthday) and got out in Dec. of 1969!! Spent 2 & half years in Germany where I started two newspapers, one monthly for the troops and one for the dependents every 4 mo.!! Got out as an E-5, company clerk and without an article 15, whew!!! Hahahaha!!! I loved Europe and wished I would've got out over there!! I traveled most of Germany, Austria & Switzerland!! Made it to the Octoberfest in Munich where the 5 of us had a police escort out of the city, hahahaha!!! The 5 of us tried to take on 10,000 Germans in a brawl, we lost!!! But the rest of the tour was awesome, loved to visit antique architecture buildings, festivals and the people were awesome also!!! Peace with a smile, still a hippie, Casey!! We had it right back in the 60-70s don't U know!!!!!!!!!

Served onboard US Submarine USS Guitarro SSN 665. Currently working alongside the United States Army in Iraq as a civilian cyber warfare analysis.

Two years active duty at the US Military Academy, West Point, NY as assistant basketball coach and assistant alumni director.
Twenty years in the Reserves as an Instructor.

Boot Camp at Great Lakes, IL. Radarman A school after boot camp. First duty station was onboard the USS Brinkley Bass, One West Pac tour on board. 2nd duty station was on board the USS James E Kyes. One West Pac tour on board. Transferred to Sioux Falls Reserve Center while dealing with my father's illness. Then transferred to Patuxent River Naval Air Station VQ4 Squadron, and was the Navigational assistant for Flight Squadron. Got married while in Maryland and had 2 boys. Currently self employed and living in San Antonio, TX

Served in the Blue Jacket Choir in Boot Camp, then to Radioman "A" School, both in San Diego, CA. First duty station was on Rough and Ready Island in Stockton, Ca. It looked like Sioux Falls to me. I worked at the Communications Center until after turning 21, I was made night manager of the Enlisted Men's Club. Yeah, I hear ya! My fourth year was aboard the USS Horne DLG-30 on a WestPac Cruise. Home port was San Diego where I was discharged in Feb. 75

Enlisted 1973, Military Police, then Criminal Investigator, then selected for Warrant Officer and became an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician Officer, selected for the "Limited Duty Officer Program" and commissioned a Lt. and retired as a Captain of Marines.

Entered Officer Candidate School, Quantico VA in 974 and retired from Active Duty in 2004 as a Colonel in the Comptroller arena

I spent nearly 27 years on active duty and retired in July 1991 as a Master Chief Cryptologist. I enjoyed my time in the Navy and still miss it after being retired for 20 years.

Served one year in Fort Huachuca, Arizona and one year in Vietnam with my last job being the Commanding Officer of a Combat Engineering company. Made lots of friends.

Boot camp and hospital corp's school in San Diego. Great place to be stationed. 2 years at Naval Hospital in Philadelphia and 2 years at Naval Academy.

Went to boot camp in San Diego with eight fellow classmates from the 65 graduating class. After electronics school, I served as a Sonarman on the USS McKean DD784, home port Long Beach, for three years, completing a six month tour off Viet Nam in 66, 67, and 68. Honorable discharge in 68, was married, have two children. Have lived in Sioux Falls, Streamwood, Ill, and currently in Franktown, CO. Now retired and enjoying the good life building antler chandeliers and lamps as a hobby.

Our Parkston High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Parkston High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated.
