William "Will" Franklin Drake, Jr., 54, husband of Annette G. Drake, died Friday, February 27, 2009, at his home.
Born in Anderson County, he was a son of William Franklin Drake, Sr. and the late Martha Ola Smith Drake, of Williamston. He was employed for 25 years as a water treatment specialist for the town of Williamston and the Duke/Anderson Joint Regional Water Systems from which he retired on disability.
Mr. Drake was a member and deacon of West Pelzer Baptist Church, a 37 year member of the Williamston Fire Department. a charter member of the Williamston Jaycees, a charter member of the Williamston Spring Water Festival Car Show. A member past president, secretary of the Tri-City Rod and Custom, a SE Divisional Director for National Street Rod Assoc. for past ten years. a member of NSRA for 30 years and Safety Inspector and State Representative for South Carolina.

Surviving are his wife of the home; his father, of Williamston; ten cousins of the Smith family, a sister-in-law, brother-in-law and mother-in-law.
Funeral services were held at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Smith officiating.
