PIEDMONT – Archie Ray Alberson, 71, husband of Ann Bridges Alberson, of 16 Hood Road, died Monday, September 19, 2011, at his home. Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Archie Hampton and Lucille Garner Alberson. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and the previous owner of Fiddler’s Lounge for twenty-five years.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Laurie Estes, of Piedmont; grandchildren, Amy Bell-May and her boyfriend, Ernest Gilpin, and Jamie Morgan Estes; a great-grandchild, Brie May; nephews, Al Alberson and his wife, Tiffany, and Bruce Alberson; a niece, Lynn Alberson; his best friend, Jan Berry, and her daughters, Kellie and Beth; and godchildren, Dee Dee Rice and Lynn Rice and many friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Vick Alberson; best friends, Mickey Berry and Joe Bayne.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home.
