Edna J. Haley, 66, of Mikado, died Wednesday, August 1, 2001 at Tendercare Nursing Home in Tawas.
She was born on December 1, 1943 in Detroit, Mich. and was raised in Tawas. She graduated from Tawas High School in 1962 and attended Central Michigan University for four years. She married Charles Haley on June 21, 1968. They resided in Oscoda until moving to Mikado in 1974. She was a teacher at Oscoda High School and also taught at Reese, Portland and Alcona schools.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Brenda (Kenneth) Gokey of Loogootee, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Connie (David) Francis of Coal City, Ind.; four grandchildren, Tony and Timothy Francis and Courtney and Adam Gokey; two brothers, Ernest McDobnald of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. and Harold McDonald of Aurora, Colo.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Stewart McDonald, in 1945.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 4 at 11 a.m. at Gillies Funeral Home in Lincoln with Dr. William Cargo officiating. Burial was at Mikado Cemetery.
