Robert A. Engstrom, 76, of Oscoda, died Thursday, December 26, 2002, at his home.
He was born May 5, 1926, in Milwaukee, Wisc. He graduated from Washington Park High School in Racine, Wisc. in 1942. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army Air Corps as a flight engineer. He graduated from Ferris Institute in Big Rapids, Mich. in 1951. That fall he began a 34 year career as a business education teacher. he taught two years at Harrisville high School and continued at Oscoda Area High School until his retirement in 1985.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working, reading and mechanical tinkering. He was always ready to share his experience, knowledge and skills.
He is survived by his wife, Jonalee; a daughter, Brooke (Frank) Witsberger of Maysville, W.V.; and a granddaughter, Katie. Also surviving is a sister, Elizabeth (Victor) Corsie of Eau Claire, Wisc. and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George.
