| About Me | Whoo, wroo, wrau....BEH! Nice guy with a big heart, I am originally from Wisconsin, from a family of 6, 26 aunts and uncles (combined both sides), and about 80 cousins (combined both sides). I am a huge enthusiast about the viola, I am a viola professor at the Univerisity of Florida, and I own my own music publishing company, specializing in Viola Music (www.gemsmusicpublications.com). I feel like a am fulfilling my destiny performing and teaching college level string players. I really enjoying making a difference in student's lives. I love chamber music, especially string quartets, and I would love to get back into the quartet playing scene- I really miss it. I also enjoy playing Rock Music. I used to have an awesome Rock Band in Ottawa, CANADA which I also miss. I write songs, sing, and do some basic guitar as well, I would totally love to put a rock band together again, and do some original music and covers. I consider myself to be living a life of ironies- a small town kid, that grew up in the cow pastures of Wisconsin, enjoying a career as far from that in classical music and academia. I just recently moved to Fort Lauderdale, and I have to say, after a lifetime of being isolated in several "smaller" cities with limited gay communities- this is really the life!!! I can't think of a better place to live actuallly. Many people ask me why someone like me is single- which is difficult to explain. I would love to find a life partner someday, and I hope I do. At the same time, I am a very independent person, and enjoy very much living my life on my terms. If there is someone out there who can accept that, than we will be a good match. I would want to be with someone who can co-exist with me and we both can respect each others independence. I guess I also have a low tolerance for certain things (drinking, smoking, possessiveness, overt religiousness, hypocricy), which seems to eliminate most people from my "relationship" radar, not to say that I am flawless- I'll be the first to admit that one. Many of you who have known me for a while may have noticed my weight flucation over the years (3 years ago- I had topped out at 332 lbs.!) I am down to 200 now, largely due to the gastric lapband procedure I had done in January 2007. I still regard that decision as the best decision I had made in my entire life. I really feel 100% better after having completed it- and about 10 years younger. It has been an interesting journey, I have revamped my diet completely- for the better. I enjoy being more active now to with volleyball, softball, gym, etc. Most interestingly is noticing the difference in the way people react around me, mostly people are more friendly now, some are the same, some surprisingly have disowned me (the "chasers", which I am very saddened by). I knew going into it that it would be like that, but the interesting thing is to witness who falls into each category.
