William (Eric) was a career Naval officer. After his retirement he worked for various Navy shipbuilding contractors. He is survived by his brother Kurt Karlson and sister DeVere Karlson. William left his wife Lea and sons Michael and Aaron. He is buried in Chesapeake, VA.
Kurt Karlson '72 said:
Eric was my brother. We went through high school together and we went through Army Basic Training together a week after high school graduation. My brother was very intelligent. He went to college after his Army obligation was completed. He joined the Navy and then went through Navy Officer Candidate School and became a naval officer, he served with distinction and retired after 20 years of service.
Eric and I weren’t as close as I wish were. I miss him.
