Dear Classmate,
Hopefully you received updated information from us this past week and are making plans to attend our upcoming 55th class reunion the weekend of Thursday March 28 – Saturday March 30, 2024.
Here is a list of activities planned for our fun-filled and memorable 55th OGHS Class of ’69 Reunion! First, we get things rolling with a class dinner in Old Town, San Diego on Thursday evening. Then late Friday morning, we’ll board a City Cruises boat for a tour of San Diego harbor and enjoy a buffet lunch. Next, we kick off the main event early Friday evening, our class party at the Comfort Inn at the Harbor, featuring a BBQ dinner, beverages, and a DJ spinning rock classics all evening long. All events are handicapped-accessible.
The final event, a six-night cruise aboard the Holland America Koningsdam, will depart San Diego late Saturday afternoon, March 30th. Our ports of call are Ensenada, Mexico, San Francisco and Santa Barbara, along with two relaxing and fun days at sea. Final payment deadline is 12/31/23.
As always, our goal is to provide multiple opportunities to hang out and reminisce with your OGHS classmates.

There will be a class party and BBQ on Saturday August 14th at BNS Brewing and Distilling Co. in Santee, owned and managed by our very own Gene Chaffin. We’ll be able to savor barbeque ribs and Gene’s award-winning craft beer plus wine and spirts in our own party area, while listening to live music and enjoying a special “surprise” event.
And since so many of our alums enjoyed attending the winery event at our 50th reunion, we are also planning a visit to Orfila Vineyard and Winery in south Escondido on Sunday, August 15th.

Information for those attending our OGHS 40th reunion. First of all thank you to everyone who has RSVP'd and turned in their reservation money. It is appreciated by the committee member handling the finances. Those that pay/have paid will NOT receive a reservation ticket by mail. You will receive it at the door to enter the reunion, and a name tag for yourself and your guest (whose name you acknowledged at the time of payment). Secondly, if you have RSVP'd but haven't turned in your reservation money, you need to stop what you're doing and get it into the mail now! The committee is NOT EXCEPTING PAYMENT AT THE DOOR. There will be a greeter that may politely turn you away. We apologize in advance for having to do this. The room that was assigned to us for the venue is limited to a certain number of people for fire safety reasons, the staffing for the evening had to be arranged in advance, along with ordering table lines, etc. It does take some early planning to hold a reunion...and with Alumni, FB, Classmates, personal email addresses, and a few USPS addresses that we still have on file for classmates from the past....the committee has given every classmate ample time to prepare for what will be A FABULOUS, FUN EVENING, SHARED WITH LONGTIME FRIENDS AND SOME OF OUR INSTRUCTORS, IN CELEBRATION OF THE FACT THAT WE HAVE BEEN OUT OF HS FOR 40 YEARS!......We shall never pass this way again, so be sure and get your reservation money in (especially for those of you on the RSVP list that said yes) but still haven't made the final commitment. Thirdly, DO NOT PARK in the VALET PARKING unless you are prepared to wait for an hour to have your car returned to you at the conclusion of the evening. If we all leave at the same time (and there are only one or two valet attendants), that is what may occur. Last but not least a friendly reminder....the theme of this reunion is "Safari"......the dress is casual......wear your Khaki's pants/shorts and a nice collared shirt guys---and ladies.....do the same...khaki's and an animal print, or jungle flower print something-or-other will be just fine!......You're coming to have fun and be comfortable!
