About	Tod Owen Duffner, 47, of Ontario, died Tuesday May 20, 2008 at Hospice House of Hospice of North Central Ohio, Ashland. He courageously battled ALS for 18 months. Tod was born March 15, 1961 in Mansfield to Carl and Thelma Duffner. He was employed for ten years at Confidential Services, served as a bail bondsman, and prior to that worked as an auto body refinishing technician at G & M Body Shop. He was a member of the Ontario United Methodist Church. Tod graduated from Ontario High School in 1979. He was an outstanding distance runner in track and a state finalist in cross country. Tod will be remembered for the love he had for the simple life. Spending time with his family and being outdoors brought him the most joy. He was an enthusiastic hunter and fisherman, with a particular passion for turkey hunting. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, and when he was not formally coaching, he was always eager to play a family game of basketball, baseball, football, volleyball, or swimming pool races. Tod adored the children in his life. He had a gift of making them all feel important and special. Tod was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and a good friend to many. Survivors include his wife Angie; children Emily, Erik, and Ethan Tod; parents Carl and Thelma Duffner; brothers and sisters-in-law Carl & Mindy Duffner, Bruce Duffner, and Brett & Laura Duffner; his father- and mother-in-law Frank & Debra Lucanegro; brothers- and sisters-in-law Anthony & Allison Lucanegro, Teresa & Brian Stough, and Tracy & Terance Trammell; ten nieces and nephews; a large extended family; and a large circle of friends. The service to celebrate God’s gift of the life of Tod Duffner will be held Friday, May 23, 2008 at 7 p.m. in The Ontario United Methodist Church, 3540 Park Avenue West, Mansfield. Pastor David Case will officiate. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church immediately following the service.
