About ONTARIO -- Terry L. Polles, 57, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at his home in Lake Ozark, Missouri.
He was born in Mansfield on July 26, 1950, to Nick and Addie Jane Polles. He graduated from Ontario High School in 1969. While in High School, he participated in football, wrestling and theatre. He graduated from Northeast Missouri State College in Kirksville, Missouri with a degree in law enforcement and a minor in business administration. He was a member of DOM, a non-Greek fraternity while in college. After college, Terry worked as a police officer for the Jefferson City Police Department, and was soon promoted to Detective. July 2000, Terry was transferred to DEA Headquarters in Washington D.C., where he worked as an Inspector in the Office of Security Programs, and had a bird's-eye view of the Pentagon on 9/11. Terry was enjoying retirement, caring for his wife, interested in cars, boats and an avid sports enthusiast. He liked watching Mid-Ohio and Indy races and was a huge Buckeyes fan. He also enjoyed playing with his buddy, Zak, a golden retriever. He also loved playing practical jokes on his friends and family.
Terry had a long courtship and marriage to his wife, Sheila (Dye) Polles, of Jefferson City, Missouri. In addition to his wife, he is survived by identical twin brother, Jerry L. Polles; brother Mick (Darlene). (copied from News Journal)
