Charles E. “Chuck” Wetzel, 64, of Fredericktown passed away unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack Friday, March 28, 2025.
The son of Marvin and Grace (Reed) Wetzel, Chuck was born November 22, 1960 in Mansfield and graduated from Ontario High School.
A devoted employee, Chuck worked for General Motors, where he retired after 30 years.
Chuck’s love for horses remained strong over the years. As a young boy, he rode and cared for horses and that love remained strong to this day. Over the years, he enjoyed trail riding, especially horseback riding in Missouri. He always had an appreciation for nature. Chuck mushroom hunted, fished, enjoyed camping, and taking his dog for long walks.
His sense of humor would be described as “ornery”. His sarcasm was often shared and he loved to play practical jokes.
He is survived by his wife, Stacey Wetzel of Fredericktown, whom he married September 5, 2009; daughter Dmara (Robert) Guiler of Galion; grandson Robert Guiler; sister Gaylee Wetzel of Ontario; his aunt and oldest living Wetzel relative, Charlotte Wetzel; and his good buddy, Great Dane, Max.
He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Grace Wetzel.
