About	Robert V. Salter, 70, of Mansfield, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 28, 2024. Robert was born June 17, 1954, the son of Robert W. and Dorothy M. (Craig) Salter. He attended Ontario High School and after graduation he studied business at Ashland University. Robert was an extreme organizer with a very analytical mind on a variety of subjects. In the 70’s, he was employed by Convey-Al Corp., which his grandfather, V. C. Salter had built by caddying for wealthy businessmen on golf courses until he made enough money to invest and have a very prosperous business on the corner of Harker and Main Street. Sadly, the building has been torn down and is now just a vacant lot. Robert had a very sturdy relationship with God, and was a born again Christian. While soul searching, the Lord led Robert to meet two of his lifelong best friends, Dan Boroff and Jim Warne. Many times, they would hang out all night on a school night until the wee hours of the morning challenging each other over the Holy Bible often eating up a whole can of his dad’s Jones Chips and drinking lots of Coke Cola, for which Robert was grounded for. He had a heart for animals and contributed to Northeast Ohio S.P.C.A., helping innocent animals and wildlife thrive. Robert was also a supporter of Catholic Charities and regularly bought food to supply the homeless. He is survived by his sister, Debra L. (Salter) Crose of Mansfield; two nephews, Jeremy Parsons and Christopher Parsons; great nephews, Cameron Parsons, Trentyn Parsons, Myka Parsons, and baby Nolan Parsons; great-nieces, Aeribella Parsons, Rebekkah Parsons, and Peyton Parsons. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a sibling, William T. Salter.
