About Brad Gentille, lovingly known as Pastor Brad, was called home to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the age of 63. Pastor Brad was surrounded by his family and well known golden retrievers—Mack (his therapy dog), Chloe and Nala. He fought a courageous battle with cancer, continuing to speak truth and spread the Gospel until he was called home.

Pastor Brad was born in Mansfield, Ohio, grew up in Ontario and lived in Richland County his entire life. He started his career in the concession business with “Gentille’s Carousel of Foods” then became a part of the I-X Center in Cleveland for many years before being called into ministry. He began his ministry work while working at the I-X Center, helping people alongside the road and sharing the Gospel on his drive to and from work. Pastor called this his “Roadside Ministry”.

One of the biggest parts of Brad’s heart belonged to his dog, Mack. Brad trained Mack to be a certified therapy dog with “Canines for Christ” -- an animal-assisted therapy ministry that uses ordinary people and their dogs to share God’s message of love, hope, kindness, and compassion to the community. Brad and Mack adventured on to build deep relationships with folks at Raintree, rehab centers, and various nursing homes throughout the county.

His love for God spilled over to his delight in God’s creation. He loved the great outdoors, enjoyed camping, hiking and in his younger years enjoyed hunting.

Pastor Brad was well known for wearing his Stetson and walking the streets of Mansfield to help others. He then became well known for his GOT JESUS baseball cap, sparking conversations, and sharing the gospel. When Pastor Brad would be in the hospital due to his cancer or receiving treatment, he always had his GOT JESUS hat strategically placed throughout the room to spark conversation (and wouldn’t let anyone move it!).

He is remembered with love by his wife of 28 years, Mary Gentille; children Kelsey (Braden) Leenerts, Kate (Jordan) Duff, Ashley Gentille (Chris Wilocki) and Megan Gentille (Eric Steigerwald); grandchildren Forest, Reese, Veda and Sawyer; siblings Greg (Judy) Gentille, Randy Gentille, Barb (Chip) Green and Laura Mileti; numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friend Chris (Becky) Earhart. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Joan Gentille along with his sisters Sandi Wentz and Peggy Owens, brother-in-Laws Joe Owens, Ray Mileti and niece Wendy Gentille.

Pastor Brad has not only preached the Gospel and stood firm but lived out the Gospel daily. He was humble, compassionate and empathized with others as he served Christ. He went home and was welcomed in the arms of Jesus, hearing “well done, my good and faithful servant”.
