Gerald Michael Gatrell, age 60 of Wellston, Ohio passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at his home in Wellston. He was born on May 16, 1964 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Gerald and Pearl Gatrell.
Known to his family and friends as Mike or Michael. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was Papaw to his grandchildren and he loved them dearly. He had a love of dirt bikes that started in his teenage years that carried throughout his life. He formed many friendships in the MX community and was known as Honda Mike. Mike also had a love of music. He taught himself how to play bass guitar and played with numerous bands in the Mansfield and Cleveland areas. Additionally, he formed many friendships within the musical community. His family will cherish the memories of him and miss him dearly.
He is survived by his loving wife: Beth Gatrell, his sons: Garrett (Miranda) Gatrell and Brett (Ivy) Gatrell, sister: Susan (Jay) Craft, in-laws: Bobby Powers (Marcy Slasor), Lori (Steve) Brandt, John Powers (Kaytione Stiner), grandchildren: Vance, Ander, and Mave, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister: Janice Gatrell and his granddaughter: Nora.
