Nancy Gay Pride, age 75, of Upper Arlington, Ohio, passed away on August 22, 2023. Born in Mansfield, Ohio, on May 11, 1948, Nancy was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend. She was known for her playful and joking spirit, always approaching life with a sense of fun.
Nancy dedicated her career to changing the lives of families and children in need as a social worker with Franklin County Children Services. Her compassionate nature and playful demeanor endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
An outstanding athlete, Nancy excelled in sports such as golf, gymnastics, and swimming throughout her life. She continued to enjoy water aerobics classes in her later years.
Nancy is survived by her son, Marc Andrew "Andy" Pride, and her brothers Rick, Steve, and Mark Flockenzier. She was predeceased by her parents, Richard and Betty Jeanne Flockenzier, her aunt and uncle Jack and Patricia Flaherty, and her grandmothers, Naomi Carr and Lucile Marvin.
A celebration of life in honor of Nancy will be held on Saturday, May 25th, at Meadow Park Church, 2425 Bethel Rd, Columbus, OH 43220. The event will be an open house featuring Nancy's favorite treats, Graeter's ice cream, goofy toys and outfits, and plenty of memories and laughter.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association and/or OhioHealth Hospice Kobacker House in memory of Nancy Pride.
