About	MANSFIELD: Rich in love, Shawna Smith was outgoing and energetic: she was a joy to be around. A life spent in service to others, Shawna’s loving spirit shone brightest as a wife, mom, grammy, and sister in Christ. Shawna Eileen (Burford) Smith, 60 of Mansfield, Ohio, passed into the Arms of her Savior, following a tragic car accident on May 1, 2024. The daughter of Jesse “Jim” and Helen (Gilliom) Burford, Shawna was born March 17, 1964. She graduated from Ontario High School in 1982. It was in 3rd grade that she first met Scott Smith, a fellow elementary classmate. On December 12, 1986 Shawna and Scott married, and were blessed with an amazing family. A devoted wife and mom, Shawna’s focus was on raising, teaching and guiding her children and grandchildren. Shawna has worked for 6 years at Startek as a supervisor. Recently she worked as a Call Specialist on a fast track to a supervisor for Spectrum. She was an amazing flutist and loved sharing her music with others especially in worship. Along with music, Shawna was also an avid artist and reader. She enjoyed bright colors which reflected her bright personality. Her coffee was a must and this was something shared among her children. She enjoyed collecting teapots, whether from past family members or one that caught her eye at the store. Her free time was spent with her husband, sisters, children, and grandchildren as they meant everything to her. Her love for Jesus was shown by her service to others. Shawna truly had a servant’s heart. She gave as a volunteer at Crossroads nursery, the library and cafeteria at Mansfield Christian School, fundraising and cutting her hair for Saint Baldricks, and always being ‘a call away’ at all hours for everyone she cared about. She will be loved, remembered, and missed every day. Shawna is survived by loving husband: Scott H. Smith, twelve children whom she loved very much; CeCelia (Dustin) Rice, Jared (Melissa) Smith, Zachary (Ashley) Smith, William (Amy) Smith, Jonathan (Kaylee) Smith, Kylie (Lee) Eppich, Timothy (Katie) Smith, Kathryn Smith (Austin Caskey), Heidi (Shane) Cook, Samantha (Ethan) Suter, Krystina Smith (Taylor Slone)& Joseph Smith; 16 grandchildren Chelsi, Nicole, Nathan, Bentley, Novalene, Lydia, Savannah, Carson, Bella, Gunner, Piper, Oliver, Alexander, Eevee, Leyna, and Theodore; her sisters: Dawna (Kirt) Burton and Melody (Rob) Ruth; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her loving parents Jesse James & Helen Eileen Burford and three grandchildren Amelia, Haylee, and Lucy.
