About | BELLVILLE: Kenneth Alan "Kenny" Swanger, 53, of Honeycreek Road East, Bellville, died Saturday evening June 2, 2007 in his home, following a long illness. He was born May 18, 1954 in Mansfield to Kenneth E. and Leona (Spohn) Swanger, was graduated from Ontario High School in 1973, and attended DeVry Technical Institute. Kenneth was a lifelong area resident, who worked as a computer repair technician and machinery designer with Therm-O-Disc in Mansfield for more than 25 years. A nature lover at heart, he enjoyed the time he spent in his garden, and had nurtured massive stands of bearded iris. Kenny had an insatiable love for life. He was a man who truly loved his wife, and had a soft spot in his heart for children and animals. When he wasn't tinkering with electronics and appliances, or inventing some needed gadget, like his air filtration system, he was often fawning on his dachshunds. His three wiener-dogs under foot "Pepper," "Brownie" and "Fred" kept the house lively. And Kenny loved to baby-sit the grand-dogs "Daisy" and "Lilly." He is survived by his wife Cindy (Hoover) Swanger, whom he married October 10, 1981; his father and step mother Kenneth E. and Elsie Swanger of Lexington; his mother and step father Leona and Harold McClellan of Lucas; siblings and their spouses Joe & Cheri Bittinger of Phoenix, AZ, Lyn & Tom Fisher of Ontario, Pam & Kevin Drotleff of Ashland, Barb & Tom Miller of Fostoria, Ivan & Shanna Swanger of Bellville, Tom & Marina Eller of Lancaster, Jeanette & Isaac Back of Bellville, Brent & Vicki Thompson in South Carolina, Craig & Tessa Thompson of Columbus, Tammy & Adam Kuhn in South Carolina, and Jarred Thompson of Columbus; his mother-in-law and father-in-law June and John Hoover of Albuquerque, NM, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law John Hoover of Denver, CO, Jeanne Hoover and Tim Hoover both of Albuquerque, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews. |
