About Bruce Schraedly, age 65, died Thursday November 14, 2019 at OhioHealth Mansfield.

He was born May 10, 1954 in Mansfield, Ohio, and was the son of Robert and Catherine Schraedly and graduated from Ontario High School in 1972. After high school he furthered his education at the University of Montana. Upon graduating he moved back to Shelby where he started Schraedly Accounting. Bruce has been a very active member of the community serving on multiple boards including The Morton School House, Shelby Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer of the Shelby Museum; past President of the Shelby Senior Center, past Treasurer of the Shelby Rotary Club and the Past Treasurer of Sharon Township, and was also a member of the NRA. He was passionate about the city he lived in and continued to try and make it a better place. One of his most important passions was The Friends of the Black Fork and their mission to preserve the Black Fork River and the downtown Shelby area. At the age of 16 Bruce became a commercially licensed pyrotechnician and through years he had put on shows for the City of Shelby as well as various communities in the area. Above all, Bruce loved having fun, whether it was boating, fishing, racquetball, reading, playing dartsor playing Mario with his wife, spending time with his grandchildren, Bruce was the life of the party and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Brenda (Humphrey) Schraedly; one son Chris (Taylor) Schraedly of Ontario; mother Catherine Schraedly; step-daughter Kara (Richie) White of Mansfield; 6 grandchildren Rain, River, Brook, Wade, Paisley and Amelia; and a brother Bob (Jodi) Schraedly of Lexington.

He was proceeded in death by his father Robert Schraedly.
