Rita, was my classmate at St. Paul Lutheran School Omaha from Kindergarten through 8th Grade. We were confirmed together on Sunday May 23, 1965 at St. Paul Lutheran Church Omaha and were in the same biology class at Omaha North High School our sophomore year. Rita had polio as a young girl and had one leg that was shorter than the other resulting in her walking with a limp. The shorter one was broken by a doctor and placed in a cast in an attempt to increase its length so the two legs would be equal in length and my parents took me to the hospital to visit Rita while she was recovering from this surgery.
