What is Dawson Gurley known for?

Dawson Gurley, also known as Big Daws, is an American YouTube personality recognized for his prank-centric channel, Big Daws TV, and his secondary vlog channel, BigDawsVlogs. A native of Olathe, Kansas, he was born on May 19, 1993, and attended Olathe East High School before earning an associate degree at Mesa Community College.

With a passion for film that ignited at the tender age of 11, Gurley began his career on YouTube in 2012. His content, inspired by the Jackass movie series, gained significant popularity with several of his videos going viral in 2014. Notably, Gurley filmed many of his initial YouTube videos on the campus of Arizona State University.

While he boasts a successful YouTube career, Gurley is also known for his resemblance to basketball player Klay Thompson. This resemblance became particularly conspicuous during the Golden State Warriors' championship runs in the late 2010s and early 2020s. Gurley once attempted to use this striking resemblance to gain access to the Chase Center's court prior to Game 5 of the 2022 NBA Finals, resulting in a lifetime ban from the venue.
