About	NORWOOD - Donald Harry Feickert 94, resident of Adams, passed away on June 15th , 2026, at Hospice of Jefferson County surrounded by Family. Donald was born August 26th, 1931 in Tupper Lake NY to Henry and Mabel (Thompson) Feickert. Don grew up in Norwood NY. Following graduation from Norwood-Norfolk High School in 1950 he joined the U.S. Army. Don served in the Korean War earning the Korean Service Medal with three bronze service stars, the United Nations Service Medal – Korea, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal- Germany. Don left military service in 1954 as a Corporal. He then used his G.I Bill to attend Saint Lawrence University, majoring in Geology, graduating in 1960. Don married Marjorie Hart of Norwood in Baldwinsville, NY. on September 19th, 1959. They moved to multiple locations following his career with Aetna Insurance all while building their family. Their final move was to Adams N.Y. where they lived the rest of their long and Happy Marriage. Following retirement from Aetna, Don was the Director of Insurance and Safety for Jefferson County. Don was highly active in the Adams community. He was a long-time member of the Adams Volunteer Fire Department and American Legion. He served on multiple committees at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church as well as on the board of the Watertown Children’s home, and as Adams’s zoning commissioner. He is survived by their four children, Andrew (Jennifer) Feickert of Haymarket VA, Thomas (Peggy) Feickert of Massena NY, Nancy (Joseph) Brown of Ellisburg NY, Karen (James) Kearns of Onalaska WI, nine grandchildren: Tammi Brown, Terri Brown, Ami (Troy) Mitteer, Genevieve (Peter) Augelli, Cpt. Victoria Kearns, 2LT Carolyn Kearns, Bridget Kearns, Joshua Feickert, Conner Wilkinson-Feickert; and seven great-grandchildren Blair, Hailynn, Hunter, Bryce, Nolan, Briar and Ryan. Don was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mabel Feickert, his beloved wife Marjorie, his sisters Gladys Liebfred and Christina Payrot and brother Jud Feickert. Don loved to play golf and spend time with his family. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He was a friend to all and enjoyed spending time with the friends he made later in life at his favorite local restaurants. Calling hours will be Friday June 19th at the Piddock Funeral Home Inc. in Adams from 1 to 3 PM followed by the funeral service at 3PM with Cathy Hamilton pastor officiating. Burial will be on Saturday June 20th, at 11:00 AM in the Riverside Cemetery Norwood NY. Jefferson County Public hHealth and Hospice of Jefferson County took wonderful care of Don and his family.
