Philip C Gibson passed on April 6, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on March 19, 1951, in Potsdam, New York, Philip later resided in Raymondville, New York.

So sorry to hear of Phil's passing. Many fond memories of playing minor hockey in Norwood and looking up to Phil as an exceptional player to emulate. And he was as nice to us younger players as he was a tremendous skater and ultimate competitor. In his 4 year career at NN, Phil scored 58 goals in 64 games and 79 total points for 1.23 ppg. And he posted those numbers on teams that went 20-48 in his HS career. And all of us got our skates sharpened by Phil's father who owned the lone skate sharpener in town. Phil Gibson is truely one of the all-time great hockey players to come out of Norwood and Norwood-Norfolk. Rest in peace on that big ice surface in the sky.
