Age 78 - Madrid - Douglas R Johnson, 78, died July 5, 2016 at the Mercy Living Center in Tupper Lake. Arrangements at Phillips Memorial Home, Massena. Burial in Madrid Cemetery. Douglas was born on Jul. 15, 1937 in Potsdam, NY, son of Ralph and Virginia Dewey Johnson. He graduated from Norwood Norfolk Central School in 1955. He joined the USA and returned home he started working for the Watertown Daily Times. Douglas is survived by his wife, Marian; three children, Scott Johnson of Brasher Falls, Pam Shea and companion Jim Hourihan of Potsdam and Kim and husband Kerry Dunbar of Winthrop; 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a sister Sharon Whittier of Norwood. He was pre-deceased by parents, Ralph and Virginia.
