Served from 60-63 on the USS Beatty (DD 756). Made cruises to the Mediterranean/Persian Gulf and Caribbean. Participated in Cuban Missile Crisis.

Gordon Watts, Sgt.
Class of 1968
Air Force, 4 Years
1968-1972 Communications, stationed near Seville, Spain for 8 mos. and Rome, Italy for 3 yrs. working with the OSI, having to wear Italian suits to blend in with the population, eating in Italian restaurants, and living in an apartment. There was no base, worked at a small airport 10 miles outside of Rome. There was only 24 of us, all of this while my brothers in arms are getting killed in Nam. During my time in I figured there were 29,000 killed, I just got plain lucky.

Served 3yrs at Ft, Stewart GA. Served 3yrs in Germany. Served 7months in the gulf,during desert shield-desert storm. Was awarded many honors and awards including Bronze star,2 Army commendations medals,for the defeat of the elite republican guard units ,in a forward deployed unit in Iraq.

Our Norwalk High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done!
