Gary W. Geiser

Army, 3 Years
Served in the elite Army Security Agency; an army intelligence agency which was attached to the National Security Agency. The primary mission was that of intelligence gathering through the use of electronic monitoring of radio, and other, transmissions. The ASA existed from 1945 to 1976 when it was incorporated into INSCOM.
Army basic training was at Fort Dix, NJ. Attended the ASATC&S in Mass. Assigned to TUSLOG Detachment 4, Sinop, Turkey for what was termed "hardship duty". Spied on the Soviets and others.
Re-assigned to Camp Walters, TX with the 303rd ASA Radio Research Battalion. Spied on (can't tell).
Was in Dallas on Nov 22, 1963 - maybe two hundred yards away from the shooting of President Kennedy.
Trained with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC. Then assigned to Joint Exercise Desert Strike along with 100,000 others. See Time article at:

Honorably discharged holding Top Secret Crypto security clearance..

I served with the Infantry Division while stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY for 1 1/2 years, Bad Kreuznach, Germany for 3 years, than Ft. Stewart, GA for my remaining service.
I had both of my children when I decided to dedicate my time to this wonderful country, so my husband, Glen Pressley, and my boys were blessed with seeing an entire different part of the world while we were in Germany including France, Austira, Switzerland, and Spain.

Coast Guard, 22 Years
Entered C.G. in 67 out running the draft. After boot camp in Cape Nay, NJ. was stationed on the Cutter Red Wood working aids to navigation. After two years was sent to combat training on the west coast. Sent to Vietnam C.G. Squadron 1, Operation Market time, patrolling the coast, rivers and DMZ to stop infiltration. Trained and turned her over to the Vietnamese Navy. Stationed ashore and advanced to Boatswains Mate third Class. Did not care being ashore so after being a pain in the ass went aboard the CGC Point Orient, once again doing Market time. Was sent to a two month yard period in Singapore. After our return in country was relieved of my duties and proceeded to pack up all of my gear to be sent home. July 70 returned home with orders to CG Station Cleveland Harbor to do search and rescue, small boat trining officer and in charge of the Armory.
