David Capstick Class of 1962
Army, 2 Years
Served 14 1/2 months on the DMZ in Korea. Sent to Korean Language School in order to work with 2,200 Korean Civilians employed by the US Govt. in the 2nd Infantry Division. Received Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Metal, Overseas Metal, Expert with Rifle and 45 cal Handgun. Had military drivers license for everything from 1/4 ton jeep to 52 ton M-60 tank. Promoted to Sgt in 15 months in service.

Air Force, 20+ Years
Instructor Navigator KC-135 and C-130E aircraft. Air Operations Staff Officer - Strategic Air Command. Served overseas for more than 14 years. Tours in SEA, Okinawa, Iceland, England. Temporary duty in Thailand, Philippines, South Korea, Mainland Japan, Goose Bay Labrador, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Diego Garcia, BIOT

I enlisted on 20 Jan 72 and have been in for over 40 years. Currently the Defence Movement Coordanator for the state of Kansas.

Army Reserves, 20+ Years
1SG 1013th QM CO, North Platte NE. 3 tours in Iraq and Jordan. I've spent more time in the middle east since 2003 than in Kansas.

Navy, 5 Years
Boot camp in San Diego, school at Treasure Island (San Francisco) and San Diego. Stationed aboard USS Saginaw LST-1188 at Little Creek, VA. Two cruises to the Mediterranean and several to the Caribbean.

Served aboard the USS Saginaw LST-1188 as a Hull Maint. Tech. (welder, pipe fitter, firefighter). Cruised to the Mediterranean Sea twice and to the Caribbean islands many times. An amazing time for a young man from the Great Plains.

National Guard, 6 Years
Six years in the Kansas National Guard (1966-1972) 69th Brigade, 2nd Battalion 130th Artillery, HH&SB, Hiawatha, Kansas. Unit called to active duty March of 1968. On active duty until September, 1969.
Michael E. Bell
Michael E. Bell Class of 1984
Army, 20+ Years
Active Duty - 9 yrs. 82C, as a surveyor, 6yrs. 88M, as a truck driver. Nat. Gaurd - 1 yr Cook, 6.5 yrs truck driver. Served in Augsburg Germany, Ft. Sill, Ok., Camp Casy Korea, Ft. Lewis Wa., and did a tour in Iraq '04 -'05.

Marine corp green blet instuctor, MMA, Field wireman, radio op, and MP and close combat instuctor, did 1 tour to Kuwait and then went to Iraq and ciivlan contractor

Stephen Peak

National Guard, 20+ Years
Steve served 37 years in the Army National Guard, of which 14 months included an active duty tour in Iraq.
Timothy Bashford
Timothy Bashford Class of 1997
Army, 10 Years
Tim left Norton to be stationed in Oceanside, California to join the Marine Crps in 1997. He served until 2002. He then moved back to Norton and joined the Army National Guard where he is still active. He has served one term in Iraq from November 2005 to November 2006.

Serves full time at the Kansas Training Center located in Salina, KS.

Cold War duty in Germany under NATO , duties classified. In the Cold War we won Peace.
