About Me	After Northwood I went to Brandeis, the "Strike Center" of anti-war protest. We hosted a draft dodger, SNCC, Angela Davis and Abby Hoffman, the African-American students took over a building and the SDS took over another one. While all this was going on I was blithely doing my thing as a Theatre and English double major, doing plays and musicals and doing my best to be a nice Jewish boy while pretending to be a total druggie (never took a single drug) . So people tended to either leave me alone or hold me up as a bad example. I met Coretta Scott King and said something really lame to her (like "I have dreams, too" or something). The highlight for me was Graduation Day when I got to shake hands with Danny Kaye (my hero). I worked at theatres in Rockville and DC for a couple years after that, writing and acting, and got some local prominence as a playwright. Thence to Scientology where I worked at the local center as a volunteer, learning how to counsel others and getting a real taste for that, which has only grown through the years. Got married in 1976 to the love of my life 9 days after we started dating, to the horror of all our friends and the shock of our parents (especially mine: she wasn't Jewish: yikes!!!). My Dad did the whole, "My son is dead" and renting of garments thing. But then she converted and we had a Jewish wedding and they wound up liking her more than me. Three kids, an off-Broadway musical, some screenplays sold, (including the Peter O'Toole/John Rhys-Davies thriller, "The Seventh Coin," seen by tens of people) some TV work on Cheers and Facts Of Life, lots of "industrials' (short films written for hire for companies) a weekly column that ran for about 15 years that tackled such weighty subjects as "Do Fish Itch?" and "How To Pronounce Schenectady;" about a year writing the comic strip, "Pogo" (with the late Walt Kelly's daughter doing the drawing) and lots of life coaching. Divona started a school, heavily emphasizing the arts, to accommodate our kids, which at its height had a couple hundred kids attending K-12 and a nice big campus.. I helped on the arts angle and writing stuff for the kids to perform in, I'm continuing to write and also do many motivational seminars, as well as workshops on screenwriting and writing in general. I've reached a place where I'm just grateful: grateful for life (I nearly died in 2011 of an exploded appendix) grateful for the great kids we still have and for having known and loved the one who left without our consent, grateful for having had 43 exciting years with Divona before she passed away last year, and ...(read more)
