About Donald Davis, age 82, of Tinton Falls and a longtime resident of Brielle passed away on April 3, 2024.

Don was born on January 31, 1942. He graduated from Shepherd University in 1964 and later attended George Washington University graduate school while working for the National Security Agency in MD. Don married Margaret Hampton in 1966 and moved to Brielle, NJ where he spent most of his adult life. He worked in sales for Allen Envelope and Printing Company in Branchburg, NJ for 42 years retiring as secretary/ treasurer.

Don is predeceased by his former wife, Margaret, his parents Donald and Ruby Davis and his sisters Corinne and Donna.

Don was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his four children and their families, Jennifer Zerweck (Jim), and their sons Carter, Davis and Reed, Dee Davis (Stacy) and their son Flynn, Rebecca Davis Strong and her daughter Kerri Anne, and Darren Davis (Jessica) and their daughter Isabel.

Don embraced travelling. Whether he was at his sisters' cabin in WV with his family or sightseeing in London and Paris with dear friends, he enjoyed seeing the world, learning about his surroundings, and talking with the local people.

Don had an appreciation for music of all genres. He had a beautiful voice and played the guitar by ear. Growing up, his children delighted in guitar concerts after dinner and at family parties. He shared his talent with the barbershop quartet and ukulele club at Seabrook Village.

Don was a successful salesman in his career and throughout his life. He was proud of the relationships he cultivated professionally and personally. He took pleasure in the good deals he found at Costco. He also loved telling jokes. His family will miss his "Reese With-a-spoon" joke the most.

Don volunteered his time to many organizations. Most notably he was a member of the Brielle Fire Company for 30 years. As a father, Don attended all his children's events. He faithfully maintained the pool and hot tub at the family home on Shore Drive. He dedicated many years to coaching baseball and soccer. He educated his kids about the importance of having a reliable auto mechanic. Above all else, he showed his kids the value of kindness and respect.

Words cannot describe the immeasurable loss felt by all who knew and loved Don. May his soul rest in eternal peace and may his memory be a blessing to us all.

There will be a visitation at the O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall Twp. on Monday April 22, 2024 from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Family and friends will share reflections during this time.
