Killed during his 2nd tour in Vietnam. First tour was with the 1st Infantry Division, Second tour was with the First Cavalry Division

Knew Gary at Northwood. He was dating Carol Nebel, class of '63. Parents moved to Pittsburgh PA. Father was a Pilot/POW in WWII. From PA he went in the Army, first tour of Vietnam was in III Corps with the 1st Infantry Div. Got wounded in the leg, was on profile at Ft Meyer in Arlington , Va. At that time he was dating a girl named Hattie Westphal. Profile removed and went for the 2nd tour with the 1st Cavalry Div. up in the II Corp, Central Highlands of VN along the Cambodian/Laotian border, then into I corps. Was killed up there. Buried at Arlington Cemetery April 1967. Everybody who ever knew him, thinks of him often and what a loss it was when he died.
