My brother, Dr. Howard C. Heron II, class of 1966, passed away March 20, 2010, after a long and brave battle with amyloidosis. He became a renowned colon and rectal surgeon in Ormond Beach, FL, and saved hundreds of lives. His sharp sense of humor and brilliant skill were unrivaled. Northwood High should be proud of this alumnus who graduated from George Washington University's School of Medicine with honors, proved his mettle, and became a well-rounded and beloved man. His loving wife Judy, children Sarah, Kristin, and Andrew are proud to have had him as a mentor and role model. The world is less without him; the disease may have ravaged his body, but his spirit is strong, and his memory will be eternal. Eileen Heron Brock
