Marti Franklin-Motton
Class of 1970
Upon graduation I held several jobs including Commercial Credit as an auditor, BGE and some substituting in an elementary school. Right after high school I ventured into the business of modeling and ad work for Huztlers department store and the Parade Magazine and TV guide of the Sun Paper of Baltimore Maryland. I was a professional model in the DMV area for roughly 13 years and the first black to represent Miss Constitution in the "I am an American Day Parade." I then found my calling into law enforcement for 30 years and then retired. I then went on to work for the Baltimore Ravens at the training facility for 13 years and then I retired from there. During all those years I also worked on movie sets as an extra and a principal in the Baltimore area. During The Whispers tours throughout Maryland I would provide catered food for one of the world's most popular R & B group. These were some of my closest friends over the years since the '70s. My biggest achievement was working in Meteor Man and was able to join the SAG Union if I wanted to once achieving certain credits. I also worked on a Gene Hackman movie as well as a movie with Kevin Bacon and Robert Townsend..even my dog was hired for Meteor Man. I have been involved in some small movie projects helping a producer/director and finally became an Associate Producer on one of her short films. I am looking forward to becoming more involved as a financial supporter in future projects.
