I was very humbled to receive the Northwest Alumni Distinguished Award for my Community Service. I have always liked to organize many things and I have helped in the community in many, many different ways. I worked with the Alumni Association for 9 years, and due to health problems, I had to resign and take a break. I am back now and updating all of the addresses for the alumni records. I love trying to find the graduates that no one else seems to be able to find, and the records and addresses have mounted up to the thousands now because I love doing that for our community. I have helped in Biddy Basketball, making over 500 Cheerleader uniforms in the past years, 4-H clubs, local gospel radio station, having gospel concerts, singing in various gospel groups, playing piano for many churches, president of the Rush Twp. Fire Dept.. Auxiliary for many years, and the list goes on and on. I want to say that I have done all of this with God's help and nothing on my own. So I am very proud of the award that was bestowed upon me, but I have not done any of things for an award. I just love to help people.
