ROBERT LOUIS GUYTON. On May 15, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at Community Hospice - Darlington Oaks, Verona, MS, an angel of silence came down and took our beloved brother and uncle. Robert, age 62, was born January 8, 1949 in Union County, MS to the late Leroy and Lexie Mae Guyton. At an early age, Robert joined Palestine Missionary Baptist Church in Blue Mountain, MS. Robert was a 1968 graduate of Northside High School in Memphis, TN. He lived and worked in Memphis as an over-the-road truck driver for over 33 years. He loved traveling the world over. The Funeral Service was at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 21 at Foster & Son Funeral Home. Robert leaves to mourn his passing seven brothers, Leo (Lenore) Guyton of University Park, IL, Theodis (Dee) Guyton of Chicago, IL, Donnell Guyton of Tupelo, MS, Walter Guyton of Booneville, MS, Eddie R. Guyton of Blue Springs, MS, Calvin Guyton of East Providence, RI and Nathaniel (Priscilla) Guyton of Horn Lake, MS; five sisters, Irma Cook of Blue Mountain, MS, Willeen Guyton of Memphis, TN, Belva (William) Simmons of Washington, DC, Carolyn Guyton of Riverside, RI, and Marion Guyton Tucker of Memphis, TN; one aunt, Oberia Ratliff of Robbins, IL, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ronald Burrell received his wings on Wednesday July 29. Ronnie graduate in the class of 1969, along with his twin Donald Burrell. Ronnie went to TSU for 2 years and left there to make a career of service in the U.S. Air Force. Ronnie retired from the Air Force after serving for 25 years. Ronnie's memorial service was held on Friday August 7, 2020 in Colorado Springs Colorado.

Rosmari Elaine Celeste Pleasure, born September 12, 1963, Killed Mar 2, 1998, A More Excellent Way, Inc. (AWay) was born in response to this tragedy and is committed to bringing an end to these violent acts that plague our community. AWay has a scholarship fund The fund is used to award scholarships to survivors of domestic violence who attend a historically black college or university. Additionally, the Department of Journalism at the University of Memphis will benefit from a scholarship fund created in memory of Rosmari Pleasure. Pleasure, an editorial assistant at The Commercial Appeal for 12 years, was murdered March 2 outside her Midtown home. The scholarship fund has been set up at National Bank of Commerce. Tax- deductible contributions to the Rosmari Pleasure Memorial Scholarship Fund – account number #294959680 – can be made at any NBC bank.

Shirlene Denise Cosby, born April 10, 1951, died Friday, June 30, 2017. An honors graduate of Northside High School and Mount Holyoke College (South Hadley, MA), she was also an alumnus of the inaugural Leadership Memphis Class.

In deference to Shirlene's wishes, the family celebrated her life with a private ceremony, primarily for family members only, on Monday, July 3rd.

She leaves to mourn her passing her sister, E. Yvonne Cosby Marshall, a brother, Ulysses T. Cosby, her long-time companion, Ralph Carr, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made in her memory to "Friends of the Library."

The homegoing celebration of Tabitha Scott Phipps was held on Sunday, February 7th at 3 PM. It was a graveside service at Saint Mary’s MB Church in Hernando, MS.

Many family members met at 2414 Talmadge Place, Cordova, TN, between 1:30 and 2:00 to ride down to MS together.

EH Ford Mortuary at 3390 Elvis Presley, Blvd prepared body for her final resting place. Her soul went on to Heaven.
