TONY ALEXANDER SMITH, 51, of Mesquite, TX, formerly of Memphis, died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, TX. He was an entrepreneur in sports and entertainment, played football at Lanier Junior High and Northside High School, attended Bishop College and earned his degree from Paul Quinn College in Dallas, TX. Family received friends on Thursday, April 9 from 5-7 p.m. at Harrison's Memorial Chapel, 3320 Millbranch Rd. Visitation was Friday, April 10 from 11-11:55 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church - Westwood where he was baptized with Funeral Ceremony at 12 p.m. Interment - Historic Elmwood Cemetery. Tony will be remembered by his son, Marcus Smith, his grandson, Mason Smith, his parents, Melveta Richard and Lacey and Cathelia Smith, his sister, Stephanie Smith, his brothers, Lance Richard and Bobby Smith, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
