About Vernon Andrew Berry was
born, June 12, 1967, to the late Vernon Lee and Roxie Ann Berry of Memphis, TN. The sunset of his joyous life, June 12, 2018; on his 51st birthday, at 6 pm, at Regional One Medical Center of
Memphis, TN.
Vernon confessed a faith in Christ at Old Salem Missionary Baptist Church, at the age of seven; under the leadership of Rev. Robert D. Dickerson, of Memphis, TN. He developed a love for song, was in the choir, and lead numerous spiritual songs.
Vernon graduated from Northside High School in
1985. He was employed with Swift Transportation Inc. for nineteen years as an over the road truck driver. When he retired from trucking; he became an entrepreneur with wife, Priscilla. This was the birth of Berry Enterprise Management.
Vernon's life memories will be cherished by wife:
Priscilla Berry of Memphis, TN; children: Justin Berry, Darian (Brittany) Berry, Tiffany (Brandon) Gardner, Candies Pittman, and James Carter, all of Memphis, TN. His only sister: Pam (Craig) Conley of Tampa, FL; Sister-in-laws: Vickie (Stanley), Dicie Pittman, and Bertha Smith, all of Memphis, TN; Adopted brothers: Dennis (Angela) Ellis of West Memphis, AR, and Kenny Strickland of Memphis, TN; Brother-in-laws: Craig (Pam) Conley of Tampa, FL, Melvin Pittman, Micheal Pittman, and Stanley (Vickie) Barnes, all of Memphis, TN. His sixteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, host of nieces, host of nephews, aunts, three uncles, cousins, and bountiful of friends.
Vernon's celebration of life was Saturday, June 23, 2018, 10 AM, at New Hope Baptist Church of Memphis, TN; in which, he was a faithful member.
His body was entrusted to N.J.Ford Funeral Home of Memphis, TN. Vernon was lied to rest at Pleasant Rest Memorial Gardens in Memphis, TN.
Vernon was outspoken, outstanding, and a man of his word. He will be GREATLY MISSED and FOREVER LOVED!!!
