Class of 44 ! Still alive.

This comes from Texas, where Thomas Oszczakiewicz, aka Osty, still is Kicking.
I was out of the fold, because of responsibilities , or whatever excuse I can think of, but after mastering MSDOS1, thru MSDOS6, and Windows 98, VB5, ... Now my Daughter decided I need to get up-with-the-times, so I've now degenerated to an
iPad!
The connectability is fantastic, but the guys that wrote these new programs would have starved to death, if they tried to write a word processing program, or a Friendly computer program.
Any way, now, at 86, comes March , I,m hoping some of my class mates are still active in this social networking fetish.

I was married, here in Beaumont, TX. For 53 years. I've been a sad widower since Annabel, passed away in 2004, but thanks to our wonderful prodigies, we've stuck together like flies.
I have only 1 direct descendent in Pa., my sister Helen Nowik.
My older brother Mathew, is in Beaumont also, he's 92 , comes April.
WWWII sure spread us out over this world that we saved!
Old memories will never be erased, as long as we're alive, but it sure seems hard to think about what happens after we're all gone. But so be it.
I received the BEST education in the world from Northampton
High School, in spite of any minor adversities we had between the Honkies and the HeevaHavas, Ha! By todays standards, we were miraculous. On saturday, we were all the Konkrete Kids!
I hope to hear from some 44r, thanks for the opportunity to communicate.

NORTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. -- A Lehigh County woman died Monday of injuries officials said she suffered in an accident nearly two weeks ago.

Antoinette (Balliet)Haubert, 40, of North Whitehall Township, died just after 11:00 Monday night, said Scott Grim, Lehigh County coroner.

Haubert had been in the hospital since May 17 when she was involved in a car accident at Mauch Chunk and Levans roads in North Whitehall Township.

Woman critically injured in N. Whitehall crash
May 18, 2011
|By Manuel Gamiz Jr., OF THE MORNING CALLA

40-year-old woman was critically injured Tuesday when a truck ran a red light and smashed into her car in North Whitehall Township, state police at Bethlehem said.

Police said a contractor's truck driven by Dale M. Sell III of Slatington was heading south on Mauch Chunk Road at 6:02 p.m. when he went through a red light at Levans Road, hitting a sedan driven by Antoinette J. Haubert of Orefield in the intersection.

Police said Haubert was heading west on Levans and had a green light. The impact spun Haubert's sedan, which then hit a pickup truck driven by James B. Holderman Jr., 21, of Coplay, police said.
Haubert suffered major injuries and was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where she was in critical condition late Wednesday night. Police did not say if Sell or Holderman were injured.

A state police crash reconstruction team was called to assist in the investigation, which is still ongoing. No one has been charged.

school bus accident

Officials review bus death, but no details released
Northampton
January 31, 2009
Officials investigating how a 12-year-old boy was fatally injured Monday when he fell under a passing school bus at Northampton Area Middle School reviewed the case Friday but did not discuss any details of their meeting.

Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli was unavailable for comment, but a spokeswoman said ''there's not going to be anything released on the bus accident today.''

Investigators are trying to determine if seventh-grader Dakota Galusha was pushed toward the bus as he walked to school, according to schools Superintendent Linda Firestone.

State police at Bethlehem are assisting school district police in the investigation, said Lt. William Teper Jr.

Dakota's death was ruled a homicide Monday by the Lehigh County coroner's office, but that doesn't necessarily mean a criminal act occurred. Typically prosecutors can rule if a homicide is accidental, criminal, justifiable or negligent.

A spokesman for the boy's family has said his parents, Kendall and Dina Galusha, believe Dakota's death was an accident.

6th graders to middle school

Northampton School District may move sixth-graders to middle school
Survey will be sent to parents in Northampton.
By Kelly Martin | Special to The Morning Call
February 25, 2009
Northampton Area School District administrators will hold a town hall meeting and poll parents about moving sixth-graders into the middle school.

The school board made the move Monday night after the failure of a vote on moving sixth-graders, who attend the district's five elementary schools, into Northampton Area Middle School.

A few board members who voted against it said they did not have enough of a feel for what parents want to make a decision.

Superintendent Linda Firestone said she does not know yet when the town hall meeting will be or when the survey will be distributed.

Board members Jean Rundle, Madelyn Kemp, Jane Erdo and Cory Fenstermaker cast nay votes. There are nine board members, but Geraldine Skrapits was absent from Monday's meeting. A tied vote automatically fails, board President David Gogel said.

''I feel that when we decide something like this, it behooves us to give the people involved with the students some input,'' Rundle said of her no vote.

Firestone said the administration recommended moving the students for academic reasons, as well as to free space in the elementary schools.

In a memo to the school board, Firestone said sixth-graders are better served in the middle school because they are developmentally closer to seventh- and eighth-grade

Time capsule

Do you remember the time capsule our class made? Due to changes with the school, it was dug up. I received news that there was cermony for the time capsule. Here is the message, "Kurt Dimmich (asst. Pricinpal NHS) called yesterday to mention that there will be a small ceremony on Aug 18th @ 5:30 in front of the High school for the time capsule. I'm not sure what they decided to do with it. "
As part of the reunion our committee was looking into this being part of the festivities. Sorry to say it did not work out... but there will be other exciting events.
It is nice to know the capsule was not forgot.

George Wolf will be closed

I know some of us began our educational journey at George Wolf School - located in Bath. Thought i would share a story that Scott and Pam Henninger emailed to me.

Mold discovery has elementary scrambling for remainder of year.

Officials were puzzled this winter over complaints about a chalky, musty odor. (Harry Fisher, Allentown Morning Call / January 15, 2008)

The discovery of black mold in a boys bathroom, combined with a long history of air quality complaints, has prompted the Northampton Area School District to shut down most of the George Wolf Elementary School building for the rest of the school year, the superintendent said Monday.

Class at the Bath elementary school will be suspended from Wednesday through Friday as district officials determine where they will send as many as five grades of children to study for the remainder of the year, Superintendent Linda J. Firestone said.

The district is eyeing area churches and schools with extra space in other districts to temporarily send children to, though no decisions have been made, Firestone said. About 700 pupils from kindergarten through sixth grade attend school at George Wolf.

The school will remain open today, but attendance is optional, Firestone said. As the school district worked Monday to inform staff of the decision to close the building, administrators did not want to give parents less than a day to make child

help please

Hello,

The reunion committee met in January and we have many wonderful ideas to help make our reunion a great event. This week, we have schedules tours of several possible sites to hold the reunion.

Currently we are searching for contact information for classmates. If you have addresses/ phone numbers/ email addresses for anyone who graduated in our class (and is listed on the missing page on this website) can you please sent them information about this website? If they are not interested in joining the website, can you please sent the information to a member of the committee? It will be a great help when we try to invite people.
If you have any ideas to help make the reunion great, please feel free to share them with myself or any other member of the reunion committee. If you have any questions or want to help plan the event- please feel free to contact myself or a reunion committee member. news of a class reunion

Greetings,

Recently several of our classmates meet. We are planning our 20th class reunion. The place has not been select- so there is no price of ticket or date to give you.

We are hoping to have the event in November or December. The event will be a semi-formal to formal event. A 20th reunion is a milestone and is something to be celebrated. We are estimating 250 people to attend. We are planning on having a cash bar. Not everyone drinks and it will help keep the ticket price down. We do have a DJ

We have discussed recognizing our classmates who are deceased. I was given some names to add to this website- but want to provide as much information as possible.

Currently- we are narrowing down the selection of places to hold the event. Someone is looking into ways to get the information out to local media. Someone is looking into finding missing classmates. Someone is looking into finding sponsors.

Again- I will try and keep this website up to date. If you have ideas or questions- please feel free to contact Tina zemlansky, Cheryl haas, Felisa Koch Leith, Diane Silfies Davidson, Joely Smith Pearn or myself.
