About Me	~ We live in relation to others ~ Inside my head I am a young, vibrant, politically liberal, progressive-minded, pro-choice, existentialist, modern, sophisticated woman. In reality, I am a 40-something working mother of three kids, who has more in common lifestyle-wise with your average Wal-Mart shopper than with the hip intellectual I try to imagine myself to be. Nonetheless, I hope at least I am managing to prevent my mind from being snatched by the sanctimony and selfishness that often accompany parenthood, home-ownership and suburban, middle-class life. I believe in freedom, progress and choice. I love celebrity gossip and teen dramas on the WB, shopping on the internet, playing pool, and Taco Bell. I have a husband who understands me in the most important and fundamental ways. I have three beautiful children (when they're asleep). Life is at once both simple and profoundly difficult. I have been trying to lose the same 10 pounds for 25 years. My friends are not great in numbers but tremendous in value. I feel extremely lucky, but work my ass off to keep that luck. Oh! And I'm a sucker for a man with a Scottish accent, hence my infatuation with Ewan McGregor, Craig Ferguson, and the newcomer to the crowd, James McAvoy....(read more)
