About Me Married to Sandra Frances (Sandy)—a retired RN surgical nurse. For both of us, it is our third marriage. We’ve been married almost 40 years. No alcohol for 43 years. Enjoying retirement life in the house we built on a northern Gulf Coast beach in 2022. Neither of us have any children from our current marriage, nor from previous marriages. We have a dog (Doberman)—he’s 9 years old now—highly trained in obedience and protection. He’s definitely a mother’s boy, as well as our alarm system for our house and anywhere we go. We live in the City of Biloxi, which has a true population of about 45,000. Biloxi is in Harrison County, which has approximately 28 casinos/resorts. We live within a mile of 5 casinos and also in the southern edge of the Bible Belt (just a little incongruity there) and therefore, the majority of the population is very conservative. The casinos play a very big role in our lives because they pay 100% of the annual budget of our fire and police departments, schools, and public works department.—that really helps our property taxes. Biloxi is approximately 75 miles east of New Orleans—if we hit the interstate highways at the right time, we can make it to New Orleans in less than an hour. I served over 5 years in the Army in Special Forces with one deployment to Vietnam for a year. I’m very fortunate to have the best Veterans Administration Hospital in the US, only a 15 minute drive for us. I’ve been battling cancer (multiple myeloma) for over 4 years now, which is a result of exposure to Agent Orange while I was in Vietnam. Thanks to Sandy’s wonderful care, and the medical staff at the VA, I’ve been in remission for almost a year. Biloxi was made famous by hurricane Katrina, just a few days past 20 years now. We keep a close eye on all the tropical disturbances...(read more)
