About | Technical Sergeant Scott Edward Davis was born in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, to JoAnn Mae Davis and the late James Lee Davis. He was raised in Fort McCoy, Florida, and attended North Marion Hight School in Citra, Florida, graduating with honors in 1988. Sergeant Davis entered the United States Sir Force throught the delayed enlistment program and reported to Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, on 17 November 1988. Sergeant Davis attended Munitions Systems Apprentice technical training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas in 1989. Upon completions, he was reassigned to Kadena Air Base, Japan and served as a Crew Member and Munitions Controler. While assigned to the 400th Munitions Maintenance Squadron, Sergeant Davis was selected for promotion "Below-the-Zone" to the grade of Senior Airman. In March 1944, Sergeant Davis was transferred to the Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. While assigned to the 56th Equipment Maintenace Squadron, Sergeant Davis deployed to King Abdul Aziz Air Base, Saudi Arabia, tracking the delivery of various munitions in preparation for 3,500 combat sorties in support of Operation SOUTHERN WATCH. While deployed, he also assisted in the clean-up and emergency efforts following the 1996 Khobar Tower bombing. In December 1997, Sergeant Davis was reassigned to Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea where he served as a Munitions Inspection Crew Chief. Sergeant Davis was transferred to Whiteman Air Force BAse, Missouri, in April 1999. While assigned to the 509th MunitionsSquadron, he controlled prepartions for two strategic arms treaty inspections ensuring verification of United States compliance with the international treaty. Additionally, he was a key player in recept and breakout of over 105 tons of precision guided munitions in direct supposrt of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM contributing to the execution of the longest combat sorties in Air Force history. Sergeant Davis was reassigned in May 2003 to the 20th Equipment Maintenance Squadron, Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, where he served in various positions within the Munitions Flight. Sergeant Davis was awarded an Associate's Degree in Munitions Systems Technology from the Community College of the Air Force in 1996. His decorations include the Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters and the Air Force Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster. Sergeant Davis is survived by his mother, JoAnn Davis; daughter, Jessica Nicole Davis; two sons, Seth Ryan and Andrew James Davis; sister, Farrah Lee Gosford and her husband John Burchel Gosford; one stepbrother, Robert Abney; fianc;; Stephanie and her three sons, Zachary, Derick, and Ricky. His daughter Jessica is following in her dadd's footsteps in pursuit of an Air Force career and is currently assigned to Lackland Air Focre Base, TExas, attending the Security Forces Apprentice Course. Sergeant Davis was a devoted son, father and brother. He will truly be missed by his family, friends, co-workers and community to whom he dedicated his life. |
