I joined the Navy in September of 1986. I attended boot camp in San Diego and then went to my first duty station. The USS Hoist (ARS-40). I chose the damage controlman rating. After my time onboard the USS hoist I transferred to SIMA Long Beach where I worked on ships repair lockers inventory and equipment replacement.
