My great grandfather Joseph Lee was born in Madison County in 1866 and had four sons.He was a farmer in Union and Madison county and owned a hardware store in Thayer Iowa. He had four sons one was my grandfather Ernie Lee who was a barber in these towns, Jefferson Ia.,Tingley Ia,,Thayer,Ia.,Afton,Ia.,Shannon City Ia., and then retired in Eldora Ia., My great uncle grandpas brother Harry Lee and his wife Aunt Doris Hainline Lee lived in Afton Iowa and stripped blue grass for a living.My mother comes from a large extended family from southwest and southeast Iowa Joe Grandanette for US Congress My Mothers Family History: My mom was born in Winterset Ia.,. Her mother my grandmother was Ruby Robbins Lee who was born in 1905 She had 2 brothers, Pearl and Alvia and 3 sisters Grace, Ethel and Viola..She went to school in Lovilla Ia., and met my grandfather in Talmage Ia., where she lived with her brother and mother. She married my grandfather Ernie Lee in Osceola, Ia., in 1925 and had 4 children.. my uncle Richard Lee who lived in Webster City and now Missouri.
