She was a retired child-care provider and had been a housekeeper for former Gov. Terry Branstad during his first governorship. She is survived by a son, Gary Snethen of Fremont, CA; her mother and stepfather, Spevid and Charles Cataldo; her father and stepmother, James and Susie Ferguson; four sisters; a brother; a stepsister; and two stepbrothers.
