Sorry to announce the passing of my dear sister-in-law. She succumbed to the type of brain cancer known as Glibioblastoma after fighting for 20 months. So sad.

Cathy was my very first best friend and she holds a special place in my heart. We were 6 years old when we met. We lived in the same neighborhood and I loved being at her house. Her house was lively with 4 brothers and their dog, Moochie. Cathy's mom, Patty, drove a big station wagon and it was always packed with kids! The boys sat in the back with their friends - always loud - lots of commotion! We tried to ignore them although they were pretty funny. I teased Cathy when we were older that she married one of the boys from the back seat! ...Rob Bayless, her brother Johnny's friend. My family and I were honored to attend Cathy and Rob's wedding. It meant the world to be there with Cathy and Rob and all the family and to celebrate Cathy and Rob on such a happy occasion. Cathy was a beautiful lady - bright, energetic, encouraging to everyone, successful, and she brought out the best in people. I am thankful for our friendship. She will always hold a special place in my heart.

We had a wonderful Memorial for Cathy in Mountain View, CA on August 9th. Her daughter Saoirse organized the gathering and it was held at a Panther's back yard. Lots of funny stories and a few tears. All the Hixon boys spoke. The weather was delightful.
