About Me	Married Lucy-Lee Stanfield September 1960. 30 years active duty in the Army (Field Artillery and research and development), retiring in 1990 as a Colonel. Fifteen years as a Professional Staff Member of the U.S. House of Representatives Armed Services Committee, retiring in 2005. Appointed to the Senior Executive Service and recently retired after 4 1/2 years as Deputy Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Chemical Biological Defense and Chemical Demilitarization Programs. Then a Distinguished Research Fellow at National Defense University in Washington, DC; and Member and Vice Chair, Board for Army Science & Technology of the National Academies of Science and Engineering.
