Julie Schmidt Kiepert passed away peacefully on February 20, 2018 after a lengthy illness which she fought with courage and dignity. Julie was a 1978 graduate of Nicolet where she studied photography and art. She excelled at both and graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with her BFA. She worked in graphic design until 2008 when she retired due to illness. Julie leaves behind her 2 sisters, Carolyn (Carrie) Schmidt Klotz and Elizabeth (Betsey) Schmidt Thompson and 2 brothers, Andrew (Andy) Schmidt and Thomas (Tom) Schmidt, all of whom attended Nicolet. Julie was married for 35 years to Kenneth and had 3 beautiful children and 4 grandchildren. She was a fun, spirited girl who had many good friends growing up in Glendale.
