Served first 3 years in Southern California with some occassional deployments south america,
I was a Military Policeman, after 3 years I went to serve over seas for 12 months, while there served again in the Military Police force and also was on the researve action team. Once I got back to the USA, i served at Champ Pendletion and then we were all called up for the first golf war.; once the war was over we were given our honorable discharge papers

Enlisted July, 1963. Basic at Ft. Knox E-15-4. Ordered to Ft. Meade, 19th. Combat Engineers as a radio operator/wireman. I was on an ATT when President Kennedy was assassinated. Being a STRAC unit, we were immediately sent back to base and sent to airport to await further orders. After 12 hours we were ordered to stand down. Our unit had the privilege of standing post on Pennsylvania Avenue for the funeral procession. It was a long, cold day. After discharge I was assigned to the 478th. Engineers at Ft. Thomas. I was ultimately promoted to SSG E-6 as Commo Chief until final discharge July, 1969.

I am still in the Army Reserves. I have been on and off Active duty numerous times since 2001. I am currently assigned in the 391st MP BN. I am transferring to another unit in Michigan soon...Perhaps I will retire in the next 3 yrs and that will give me 32+ yrs in the military.

Commissioned a 2nd Lt in 1958 upon graduation from Eastern Kentucky University. Served in the military both active and National Guard for 37 years which included eight years as a federally recognized Brigadier General serving as the Assistant Adjutant General for the Ohio Army National Guard. Responsibilities included the training, administration and finances of 88 OHARNG facilities and 15,000 soldiers.
