When I graduated in 1964 I started to work as a long distance operator for AT& T. After over 6 years in various positions I transferred to Southern Bell in Charlotte NC keeping my service years. I met my husband who also worked for the company and had our son Chris. I decided being a parent was more important than going back to work so I gave up 11 years. We decided to move to Camden SC in 1977 to be closer to family which was a wonderful decision. I loved living in a small town and having a house in the country. When Chris started school I joined the volunteer fire department and was licensed to drive either truck. In 1993 Cris chose to attend Winthrop University in Rock Hill SC & the next year I enrolled as a freshman @ The University of South Carolina Columbia campus. Upon graduating in 1999 Verizon Wireless was hiring for a new call center to be opened in Columbia SC and I was in their first class. I got to experience the wide use of mobile technology from the beginning. I left Verizon after almost 11 years and retired only to have to retire two more times before I was content. I think about those that I was close friends with and those that I remember from high school. I have found and friended several on Facebook which is really nice. I hope that some will want to continue communicating with me.
