Beverly Ann Adcox Lindsey
Class of 1955
Beverly is a 1995 graduate who moved to Wichita, Kansas after graduation. She worked for the Boeing Company in Wichita. She met and married Carl G. Erickson, a Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force who flew B-47 and B-52 aircraft, 1957. The Erickson family was stationed in Arizona, Oklahoma, Michigan, and in Texas, where Lt. Col. Erickson retired from the former Carswell Air Force Base, Fort Worth, Texas (now Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Forth Worth). Two children, Brian K. Erickson and Lori Erickson were born to the couple. Lt. Col. Erickson died in 2003.
In March, 2007, Beverly met Thomas K. Lindsey of Arlington, Texas while she was on her way to work as an telephone caller setting appointments for agents of an insurance brokerage.* She was an outstanding telephone caller who could wait and choose the company to work for. She was also a success at managing department store photography studios. Her last employer named the Beverly Lindsey Sales Center in her honor in its new offices. Beverly retired after 2010 when diagnosed with lung cancer. Chemotherapy treatments over the 4 1/2 years were successful, but other medical conditions led to her death on October 20, 2015. She died at home under the care of a hospice service.
She is survived by brothers David Adcox of Fargo (Brinkley) Arkansas, Jimmy Adcox of Newport, son Brian and daughter Lori Paulsen both of Fort Worth, Texas, grandchildren Sean and Rachel Paulsen of Fort Worth, Texas, and husband Tom of Fort Worth.
*During the spring of 2006, Tom had told his cocker spaniel dog Chin-Chin that it seemed likely that the only way he would meet a woman whom he would want to marry would be after a meteorite fell in front of him. Tom goes back every now and then to the northeast corner of Lynda Lane and South Cooper Street in Arlington, Texas to look for some fragment of the meteorite that must have fallen to earth nearby.
